The PINK MACARON Bali Bliss

Bali really does have it all, and if you ask us Julia Roberts should have done the whole Eat, Pray, Love thing right here. Bali is called “The Island of The Gods,” and appropriately so. Let’s take you to our favorite spots!!
PINK Stay

W Retreat & Spa: Seminyak probably is the coolest location to stay in Bali and the W for sure is THE place to be. Spacious rooms and super stylish interiors (just as the people staying here) and the hottest pool parties on the weekends. If you make it to snatch one of the bean bags to float on the pool you never want to get off again! But beware – it can get a little crowded and the beach is not the nicest one so stay at the W for the uber cool lifestyle and make sure to go somewhere else, too!! Just as……

Samabe Suites & Villas: …Nusa Dua. Lots of the most luxurious beach resorts in Bali are located here and we maybe found one of the most picturesque places ever in the Samabe. Unfortunately we did not stay here so I can’t tell you that much about the hotel – but I almost freaked out (in an Instagram way) upon arrival of our day trip. Insanely beautiful views of the white beach and turquoise ocean from almost everywhere, water lilies floating on lagoons all across the resort – breathtaking!

Bulgari Bali: …or Uluwatu. So this may be one of my favorite places on earth. A visit at the Bulgari Bali was on my wishlist for ages. Literally. The most exklusive destination in Bali – maybe one of the most exclusive destinations in the world. Located in the middle of the rain forest on the cliffs 150 meters above the sea, offering the most spectacular views of the Indian Ocean. Think there are no words needed about the super luxurious and clean Italian interior design of the spacious villas. One of my Bali highlights – the way to the beach down the cliff via elevator (and like 1000 steps above and beyond but pssst 😉 !

PINK Sights

When in Bali, make sure to explore the whole island as Bali has so much to offer and missing the whole magic is the worst thing to do!! The simplest way is to book a private driver who can show you individually everything you want to experience. Our tour guide Krisna was the most fun to stay with, big recommendation of Krisna Tours Bali!

Bali’s temples: Bali really is a spiritual journey. When I got it right – hope so – every single house has to have its own (little) temple, so as you can imagine there are countless on the island. Unfortunately the famous ones like Tanah Lot are really crowded so I refused to take pictures there (of the crowd with a little bit of temple aside) but hey, worth a visit to complete the must see list. Prefer to stop at one in the middle of nowhere to get the real flair!

Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary Ubud: Ok this is a classic. But not to be missed. And do it, buy some bananas and make the monkeys jump on your shoulder, it’s so much fun!!! Don’t worry about your belongings, as far as I saw everybody had their sunnies on when leaving the forest!

Tegalalang Rice Terraces: Probably the most beautiful rice terrace set at the cliffs near Ubud. A lot of restaurants and cafés offer amazing views of the rice paddies while having lunch. Great place to take pictures but beware: The terraces are surrounded by very touristic streets, not that idyllic as it looks.

Bali Pulina: Ever heard of the most expensive coffee in the world, Kopi Luwak? Maybe you don’t want to know the whole story, but – beans that have been eaten by the civet cat, not-really-digested, then pooped out, collected up, cleaned, roasted and ground for our drinking pleasure 😉 So when in Bali, don’t miss to try the coffee (for about 5 Dollars a cup, everywhere else you would pay 5 times the price). At Bali Pulina you can visit the little refiners and get 8 variations of “normal” coffee and tea for comparison for free.

PINK Gourmet

Bali is said to have some of the world’s best and most trend-setting restaurants and we totally agree. Every single place we went to was super stylish, offering great food and was (most important haha) uber instagrammable from the interior design to outstanding food design and cocktail creations.

Café Organic: Also a little #GardenGangsta? At Café Organic you can get the most delicious smoothies, juices, coffee creations (try the beetroot or taro latte) and bowls. Superfood everywhere!!

MAMA san: One of Seminyak’s trendiest restaurants. Lounge in retro colonial interior and enjoy the fanciest cocktails ever – from popsicles in lemongrass vodka to candy floss with cocktail aside to be poured over. Must try: the pork hock or for the “small” hunger the pork belly. Best thing ever and I’m from the country of Schweinsbraten & Haxen ;))

Tiger Palm: Super delicious Malaysian cuisine in the very heart of Seminyak, totally love the interior design. Go here for the desserts – absolutely #tdf coconut bowls with the most fun combinations of tastes and textures!! Favorite one: the Bubur Madura bowl.

Mad Tea Party at the W Lounge: This high tea W style is right out of wonderland. Tiny ice cream machines, mini eclairs, scrumptious cakes… Tempting!!

Chandi: A modern twist on the traditional Indonesian cuisine. Try one of the hot stone sate platters, big recommendation for the fish one with the most delicious slipper lobster!

But for now, greetings from paradise!
