Ladies, time for a little family history! My mummy used to live in the Allgäu. For all the not-Bavarian girls out there: A truly charming region in the Bavarian Alps! My dad used to be a British soldier stationed in Berlin back then and was on skiing holidays in the Allgäu – so believe it or not, they met on a Après-Ski party and that’s where it all begun… <3
So for me, this beautiful region has something oh so special and there is so much to discover here!
First, I have to introduce you to the most charming accommodation ever: The Alpin Chalets by Panoramahotel Oberjoch. These little wooden Chalets are the perfect combo of rustic charm and super stylish design! You get your very own, private sauna, a huge tub on the terrace in the middle of the snow, a fire place with comfy relax area in front… Most cozy place ever!!
My personal Must-Do-Trip just 20 mins drive from the hotel: The Vilsalpsee. This little lake is nestled between the mountains within a nature reserve, where there is no access between 10am and 5pm. That’s why there are almost no other people around and you can enjoy the insanely beautiful nature and silence. Make sure to see the sunset here!
Another experience not to miss: Cuddling with Alpakas! Almost as cool as unicorns and I bet so much fluffier 😉 At Allgäu Alpaka you can book walking tours with the lovely animals and walk trough the stunning landscape with your very own Alpaka on a leash – how cool is this?! The owner Franz has the nicest stories and I promise you won’t be a victim of a spitting attack on his side!
