The PINK MACARON Scotch

Ad/Anzeige

When planning my next trips, I always end up going to the south – nice weather, sunshine, dreamy beaches. But, also more northern destinations have so much to offer and I couldn’t be happier about ticking off the very first one of my bucket list: Scotland! For this time, Edinburgh and the Lowlands only but I will definitely come back to see the Highlands. And Nessie 😉

So here comes my Must Sees and Dos for the coolest Edinburgh weekend getaway!

PINK Stay

For this time, no super luxurious hotel but a little Victorian guesthouse: The Sandaig. Just a short drive outside the city centre, you couldn’t stay more charming. The friendliest staff and best a la carte breakfast as well as spacious and pretty rooms for an awesome price!!

PINK Food

Believe it or not, but when in the UK I prefer traditional pubs over classy restaurants. When in Scotland… 😉 But I can warmly recommend two spots:

Makars Gourmet Mash Bar: Just around the corner of Edinburgh Castle you find this super cool designed place offering a modern twist on classic Scottish dishes. Trust me, try the haggis here! I was totally blown away of how delicious it is!!

eteaket: These guys are the leaf tea experts and in the cute and cozy tea room you will almost only find locals – isn’t this always the best sign? Must visit for the afternoon tea, amazing food and amazing price!

PINK Sights

The Scotch Whisky Experience: Scotland is all about whisky so when in Edinburgh, you simply have to do this whisky tour and tasting experience. It’s impressive how different the tastes between the regions of Scotland are. But the best thing is The Collection: The worlds largest collection of Scotch whisky, incredible!

Tantallon Castle: Just a short drive from Edinburgh, you can find the breathtaking ruins of Tantallon Castle on a cliff edge. Super fun exploring all the artefacts and climbing up the walls. Can’t get any more typical scotch!

Most instagrammable spots: The whole city of Edinburgh is incredibly charming and picturesque. Every single building looks historical with flowers on every window and wall. But some streets are THE hidden gems, make sure to visit these for Insta Spam:

  • Circus Lane: Cutest street ever. Seriously. Looks like a street out of a fairy tale.
  • Victoria Street: Every house is painted in another pretty color, from turquoise to pastel blue to PINK!
  • Dean Village: Straight out of some kind of wizard and dragon movie!

See you soon, beautiful Scotland! So much more to explore!
