THE PINK MACARON`s OMAN TRAVELDAIRY

Hi loves,

from time to time I just love to see something new on the blog and my account beside the typical Instagram hotspots. The was the reason we decided to visit the OMAN.
Only stones and desert? Not at all. We were super surprised.

I already visited Dubai and Abu Dhabi last year and I really have to say Oman is my fav of all three. So much interesting culture and the most friendly people ever! The deep turquoise blue water of the sea of Oman is hypnotic, contrasting vividly with the majestic mountains. This is the fascination of Oman.

PINK STAY

The first night we stayed at the gorgeous Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa only 20 minutes away from Muscat.

What I really love about the concept is that you will find two hotels in one. Both are connected by a beautiful calm beach an a big pool area. Perfect to beat the heat.
Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa offers a bug breakfast buffet with intercontinental yummies but also some very traditional dishes like hummus.
My favourite restaurant for dinner was not so typical for the Oman but you can never resist a great Italian place like the Capri Court right? We had the chance to try the hole menu and I have to say from Gnocchi to Tiramisu the cook is a goddess.
My favorite activity the hotel offers every afternoon is the camel ride. As you can see I am totally in love.

Beside all the luxury  at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa there was something else that impressed me the most. This hotel cares so much about nature: The resort has its own turtle farm to save endangered species and they are the only hotel in the Oman that uses no plastic drinking straws but ones made from metal that look very elegant and save the nature. Thumps up!

PINK LOOKS

Even it was super super hot during August in the Oman (we had over 45 degrees) as a women you have to dress classy and cover arms and legs most of the time. For this occasion I love to wear long kaftans. Nothing more comfy and elegant. To give them a little upgrade I combined the dresses with heavy gold jewellery like my “It-necklace” from Celine or some big Zara ear clips.

PINK FUN FACT: Did you know I have no earring holes? I am afraid of the pain (I am a chicken) and I also love to hunt ear clips all over the world. So just an excuse for more special shopping occasions 😉

PINKS SIGHTS

Gold Souq

If we talking about shopping: The Gold Souqs in Muscat are more then shiny and offer a fair price for gold! This is always a good longterm invest, ladies!

Bimmah Sinkhole

If you visit the Oman I would defiantly recommend to rent are car (petrol is almost for free) and drive to one of the beautiful oasis called Wadi.
Bimmah Sinkhole is very nice for pictures but I liked Wadi Shab a bit more. You need to walk about 45 minutes through the stone mountains to get there. Totally worth it! Let´s wander where the wifi is weak, right?

Maskat Mosque

When I visited the famous Scheich-Zaid Mosque at Abu Dhabi I was totally disappointed. That is why I never posted something from this place. The people where rude and there where 10000 of tourists. Not a calm religious place for me.
The Sultan-Qabus mosque in Maskat is the opposite with its calm and beautiful flair located in-between green gardens.

So, Oman you really are the best adventure so far!
XX
Yours Steph
