Hi loves, are you more the city lover or just need the beach and the sound of the ocean around you? I am totally the city type. I love to hop around in rushing cities and discover something new around ever corner. Nevertheless there are some tropical destinations on my bucket list and one of those always was: The Bahamas. For me this place is so much more than just sand and beach. The nature and especially the animals are incredible. So here is our PINK travel guide about sharks, swimming pigs and, hell yes – stunning beaches!
PINK Stay
We stayed at The Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort, Nassau which is a luxury five star resort that offers all inclusive food and drinks and has an amazing no tip policy. It was our first time at an all inclusive resort and I have to say if you like that kind of concept Sandals definitely does a great job. You can choose between 10 different restaurants and really can eat all day long. So dangerous… Our favourite was the Japanese live cooking!
Further more Sandals Royal Bahamian offers a calm Offshore Island with 2 cove beaches and the best thing ever: an exclusive butler service for selected suites. Can you believe we had our own butler 24/7! What he did best? Flower arrangements for our amazing bathtub at the little terrace of our suite! 😉
PINK Sights
One of the most instagramable things EVER definitely are the ” Swimmings Pigs ” at Exuma. I am sure you saw them already. This was reason number one to go to the Bahamas. We chose a round trip with Hidden Beaches from Nassau. Usually if you stay in Nassau you need to fly over to Exuma. Great Hidden Beaches also offers a day trip from Nassau. The first stop on our journey was Allen’s Cay (1 hour away) where we fed the endangered Bahamian Rock Iguanas on a pristine beach. This one was my favourite as those are real cuties. Next up is the main attraction, the swimming pigs (1 hour away). Well, what should I say? I have no idea how all the bloggers get so amazing pics with the pigs as they are quite cheeky and also a bit dangerous as they bite… I really love all kind of animals but I was afraid and to tell you the truth: my pic had the help of a little bit of photoshop 😉
Following lunch is another short ride (20 minutes) to Compass Cay where you can swim and interact with the nurse sharks in crystal clear water. The funny thing is – if I had to choose between the sharks or the pigs – I definitely would go for the sharks as they are not that dangerous and even cuter. It was so nice and relaxed in the water – life always surprises me as I usually am afraid of big fishes. Last stop is the a magical natural beach. Can I please play Robinson Crusoe here?
PINK Looks
The little villages on the Bahamas have a very cute Cuban touch that is why you will find a lot of pastels. Especially our color PINK is everywhere! Nothing more perfect to twin this style with your wardrobe. I brought a lot of turquoise and pinkish looks with me. Always combining these with bags in natural colours and materials. We are totally addicted to round beach baskets at the moment. You know I almost never wear bikinis but swimsuits and my favourite this season are by Zimmermann and Forever21.
So lessons learned from the Bahamas: Pigs are more dangerous than sharks and all inclusive offers combined with 5 star comfort is possible!
